Jons 986 Boxster RS

Last year we were commissioned to carry out extensive modification work on Jon Spencer’s 986 Porsche Boxster S. After choosing carefully, Jon who lives in Luton decided Performance-Porsche were the company to entrust his ‘baby’ with.

After collecting the car, the programme of work that we carried out included the following.

– 30mm lowered with H&R springs

– GT3 front spoiler with deep diffuser and custom aluminium mesh grills.

– 997 door mirrors

– Uprated discs with Red Stuff pads.

– GT3 aero side skirts

– RS boot spoiler

– Full ‘in-house ’ re spray

We then turned our attention to the engine department which included the installation of a performance under drive pulley kit, K&N induction kit, Nano spec oil and one of our speciality stainless steel custom silencer modifications to make the car really growl. Next on the cards was a visit to the rolling road where the car was dyno tested and then mapped on the dyno to produce a whopping 280 BHP.

Now all that was done before Christmas and the car was delivered safely back to Luton, however Jon had the bit between his teeth and wanted more from his RS hence the car is back with us in Yorkshire for more work.

This time he is getting serious. We have removed the original 3.2 engine and have sourced him a good 911 3.4 engine which we will fully rebuild and fit an IPD competition plenum, 997 throttle body under drive pulley kit, full stainless exhaust system complete with custom headers and 200 cell cats, after this little lot has been bolted on it will be a trip down to the rolling road again for some dyno testing and custom re-mapping which we hope to be getting close to 380 BHP!
